Flash based games are growing with advent of Facebook gaming and the massive success it has garnered over the past few years. But the constraints it has on developers makes for not the best looking games. That all changes now, because Epic, through their mysterious sorcery, has Unreal Engine 3 running on Flash Player 11.

Tim Sweeney, Epic’s co-founder and CEO, executed a live demonstration of Unreal Tournament 3 today during Adobe MAX 2011 in Los Angeles.

An Unreal game on Facebook or Google Plus could be very successful, but Epic has shot down any of the rumors that they are working on anything Unreal related. Regardless, this will be a very useful tool for Flash developers and will hopefully lead to more ambitious and better looking games.
