If there’s one man who knows the madness that is Saints Row: The Third, it’s Scott Phillips. As the game’s lead designer, he has overseen its development right through from the earliest concept art to the final product, which is due to hit UK shelves on November 15.

We caught up with him at London’s MCM Expo on Monday to find out a little more about where the development team’s ideas come from, how long the game will last, and why the story and gameplay gel more comfortably in previous instalments.

Roughly how long does it take to complete Saints Row: The Third?

SP: It’s about 20 hours for the main campaign and then 40 to 60 to 80 to get 100%. We felt good about the length
