The mind-bending platformer with the clever name is coming to the 3DS eShop. Yes, you read that correctly, it’s going to be in 3D.

VVVVVV was created by Terry Cavanagh, originally titled Sine Wave Ninja for the gravity-flipping mechanic. Heavily inspired by the 8-bit gaming era, VVVVVV tasks you with saving your ship’s crew, all with names beginning with the letter V of course, and exploring a quasi-open world full of secrets. It made its first appearance at Eurogamer Expo in 2009, and has since been released on PC, Mac, and Steam.

The 3D version will be published by Nicalis, the publisher and developer of another popular platformer Cave Story. Along with the 3rd dimension of visuals, the Nintendo 3DS version of VVVVVV will include a real-time map on the bottom screen, new levels, and future content updates. It will also keep the same chiptune soundtrack by Magnus
