Google is gearing up to launch an online store that will sell tablets directly to consumers, according to reports obtained by the Wall Street Journal.
The store will allegedly sell Google-branded tablets as well as models made by Samsung and Asus.
But with figures compiled by analysts Gartner suggesting that 70% of all tablets sold are iPads, Google will have its work cut out for it if it plans to catch up with market leader Apple.
The Wall Street Journal reports that no date has yet been set for the online store to open.
