Mortal Kombat 9 Arcade Cabinet

It’s not often that you see a great looking cabinet in arcades around the world any more, never mind one for a game that’s only just been released on consoles.

Thankfully, this upsetting reality hasn’t stopped gamers and hobbiest creating their very own arcade cabinets for all their favourite games.

Step in one chap named, BadBoyBill (we’re fairly certain that’s his real name), he’s a guy who has the right idea. Mortal Kombat started it’s life as an arcade game in cabinets around the globe, and that’s where it would stay if he had his way.

Bill created his own custom made arcade cabinet for this years Mortal Kombat game, adding a massive 42″ 1080p screen, two amps and a whopping 10″ sub-woofer to the mix.

“The machine uses an xbox 360, parts from 2 pdp limited edition controls (for template and pcb’s), modded media remote for external cab power control, smart strip for one button power on, tons of lighting,” says Bill. “[The] xbox is set to boot straight to the game, and the monitor has a slight delay so you don’t even see the 360 bios animation. Launches straight to the game on powerup. There is no access to home or back buttons from the control panel.”
