Part of Nintendo’s E3 strategy regarding their new console release was to hype up third party support, something with which the console maker has historically struggled. Among the big name’s to be flashed across the screen was Assassin’s Creed, Ubisoft’s historical and religious epic retelling. And, as we gamer’s usually do, people figured that the next installment of the franchise, Assassin’s Creed Revelations, would finally appear on Nintendo.

Well, that isn’t so. In an interview with Swedish website AftonBladet.se, Ubisoft has revealed that the game will not be Revelations, but rather something “for the future.” Of course, this could just mean that, because the console won’t be out in time for Revelations, they will wait for Assassin’s Creed 3, but it may also mean that Ubisoft has something entirely different in mind for the console.

I for one hope that they don’t make something too different. I’d like to see the Wii U be in competition with the other consoles for hardcore gamers. I also just don’t want to have to pay more money for more Assassin’s Creed because I’m a bit cheap…
